Objectives We aimed to examine the effect of education of trusting in God’s faith on depression in the elderly men. 
Methods & Materials This was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-post test design and control group. The population was the elderly men living in nursing homes in Tehran province. Between the existing hospice, hospice charity Kahrizak elderly were randomly selected. GDS 15-question Form was administered on 50 elderly men. 20 cases whose depression scale scores were 8 and above 8 were selected randomly in both experimental and control groups of 10. In this study, eight training sessions were held about trusting God for the experimental group. One week after completion of the group training, the depression test was administrated on both test and control groups. Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). 
Results We found that the educational intervention improved depression in the participants (P<0.05).
Conclusion According to the study, trust in God was effective in reducing depression and increasing the quality of life in elderly men.
