Abstract: (28 Views)
Objective: The aim of this study is to develop, implement and evaluate a virtual self-management program on the level of hope and anxiety in patients with congestive heart failure.
Materials and Methods: In this randomized trial study, 100 congestive heart failure patients were selected using a convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to two intervention and control groups. The data included demographic information (age, gender, marital status, education level, employment status, time of heart failure diagnosis, comorbidities, medications, monthly income, family history of heart disease and other related factors), Efirt cardiac anxiety questionnaire and Miller Hope Scale, which were validated by a number of professors at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, and the intervention group received a self-management program based on the Kern educational model in six stages. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistical methods in SPSS version 19.
Results: The intervention group showed a significant decrease in cardiac anxiety (P<0.001) and a significant increase in hope (P<0.001). No significant changes were observed in the control group. Implementation of the self-management program improves the level of anxiety (44.00 ± 7.025) and hope (44.00 ± 16.32) in patients with congestive heart failure and emphasizes psychological and social aspects.
Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it can be said that the implementation of the virtual self-management program can affect the level of hope and anxiety in patients with congestive heart failure.
